NMFL is dedicated to pioneering health and cosmetic innovations across Africa by focusing on the development of affordable, high-quality products. NMFL addresses emerging health needs through research, sustainable ingredient sourcing, and partnerships with industry leaders.
Discover Our History
Founded in 2021, Novel Medicinal Formulations Ltd (NMFL) was born from a vision to harness Africa’s rich natural resources to meet local health and cosmetic needs. The journey began at Mbarara University of Science and Technology’s PHARMBIOTRAC incubator, where NMFL’s founders recognized a critical gap in the pharmaceutical industry: the reliance on imported products and limited local research and development. NMFL set out to change this by creating locally sourced, scientifically validated solutions tailored to African health challenges. Today, we continue to innovate and partner with regional industries to bring high-quality medicinal and cosmetic products to market, supporting Africa’s growth as a leader in pharmaceutical innovation
